All in all, Amsterdam has a lot of things figured out for today’s world. The people use hardly any fossil fuels in their daily lives, riding electric trams or self-powered bicycles everywhere they go. Amsterdam is very tranquil and I did not see a dangerous looking or acting person the entire time I was there. This was surprising as those who were homeless or close to homeless weren’t in anyway aggressive, and were for the most part looking for a joint or a drum circle to enjoy. The only trouble there seems to be is with British tourists and their drinking habits. Surprisingly (maybe only because I still haven’t been to the UK), I have heard this about British tourists from locals all over Europe, from Italy, to Portugal, and Paris.
The people are very welcoming, in general, and tall (and blond and beautiful)! The bars are fun and the people very laidback. My only issue was the lack of live music to be experienced. Beyond that, I recommend visiting Amsterdam to everyone.
